Analog Center
Fall 2018

In this project, we were asked to create an analog center for our campus. We were given several different constants, such as size and program. But for the most part, there was to be little to no electricity used. To account for this we installed solar panels and a water cistern. We were also tasked with optimizing the best lighting conditions within the building for reading. Lastly, we had to design an outdoor space.
The site is across the street from Lawrence Technological University's campus on 10 Mile Rd.
My concept behind my analog center was focused on the use of sound as our elevation changed throughout the building. This is personified with the use of a stepped interior and exterior, and the ramp.
My analog center is a two-story building, with a more loud and public area by the entrance and a quieter more private area as you move away from the entrance. The ramp allows everyone to have easy access to the interior and exterior spaces.
This section allows one to not only see the cut and fill but also the logistics of the ramp.
These vignettes give one a better feeling of what it would be like to be in and around the analog center.
